The path to Lyons Ranch follows an old road down to the old Lyons family homestead. Between 1865 and 1969, the Lyons family ran a self-sufficiant sheep ranch there. It was known as the Home Place. Remnants of the Lyons family barn, shepherds' cabins, and orchards still remain along the trail. The trail travels though old grass pastures, tree groves, and open hill side offering amazing views.
